Use solar power and wind power. Most of Europe is way ahead of the US and using both. Iceland has cars that run on hydrogen. Use rain water to flush toilets and water the yards. Many Europeans routinely do both. There are underground storage tanks and rain barrels to collect the water. When people shop, they use carts and load their groceries into collapsible containers or baskets. Very few plastic bags are used and you are charged for them. Establish a recycling program. We have to compost, separate glass by colors, recycle paper, and plastic. All are in separate containers and are collected by the city on a cycle: household trash, paper, household trash, plastic, household trash etc. Glass and compost are put in containers in the village. There is very little household trash! Establish green areas and hold Volksmarches. The US could do a lot more to save the environment!
